| Another vintage year at Beermountain!

This year we dispatched an advance party (Mr Toad and
Mr Disco) to get things set up in good time. After a long slog of two
days work without a beer in sight all was set - that was until a freak
whirlwind or helicopter downdraft blew our base camp away...
By Thursday, normal service was resumed and we slipped
into the usual chain of events, most of which you can see in the photos
below! Before we'd drunk more than a few hundred beers , it was Monday
morning and time to go home again! Oh well, all good things have to come
to an end at some point I guess...
This year we seemed to helped out by nearly everyone
we met - enormous Beermountain thanks to you all. The medal awards
committee will be meeting soon and we hope to acknowledge many of these
acts of generosity.
It was also great to see some of the old faces and
some new ones - The Pope, Joe, Wrinkly Ray, Simon, Ian and all at Pope Base, Smokie, George,
Canada Phil, Tracy & Mark from the PC Pirates, The Liverpool Boys,
JPC & crew, RS2
Babe & crew, Keith & crew, & Charles & Nancy to name just a few!
Apologies to those we have forgotten the names of owing to the potency
of Stan's cocktails...Also not forgetting Terry and
Phil from Cheshire Motorhomes (the "decoder boys"? Ed), Sue back at base,
and the kind people at Beck's for sponsoring our bar and Beertower (TM)
this year.
They say a picture tells a thousand words - so here
goes for now - quite a few thousand words...

Left to Right (above) - Dark clouds brew over BM base,
the remains of our marquee salvaged from the bin, having a McSnack, the good old 36 foot
Infinity slide out home, and the new pool opens for business

Left to right (above) - The newly enlarged Beck's
Beermountain bar, Stanley our new (highly effective) Barman, Oddball enjoying a French Martini, Doctor enjoying a
"Godfather" and Mr Toad well out of his depth - but looking purposeful,
and Buzz with a couple of "friends" (he thought 10 Euro's was
good value after this - Ed)!

Left to right (above) - Fun and games on Sunday
afternoon as Mr Disco & team keep passers by cool, The Doctor struggling
to do a single lap of the new pool, Swiss enjoying a new patented
floating bar, Tracy cleaning the pool after you know who put fairy
liquid in (that's an original one - Ed), and the new illuminated leaning
Beertower (TM) - a celebration of Mr Toad's creative skills...
Left to right (above) - Buzz with his complete packing
list for this year (fireworks, pillow, & shorts), Doctor alone in his
kitchen planning the evening meal - "Monty" style, The Mk 2 Chopper LM BM (note
the rotating disco light - Ed), the new "cooler" next to a growing
Beermountain, and our old friend Guy, back once again to protect us from
the pikeys!

Left to right (above) - A few of our MB friends
- Some of the CA boys & girls sucking it all in (Rick Cutler, Daniella,
Mr RS2 Babe, RS2 Babe, and I think BigH) , The "Country Club", The
Pope Crew discuss scooter maintenance, The winning Corvette GTS team,
and JPC & team alarming the local media boys!

Left to right (above) - The BM crew on "Terry Thomas"
night, Doctor practices for the new Chopper display team, Mr Disco
explains where he got the medals from, Mr Toad sporting a dangerous
moustache, Stanley, Oddball and Radar discuss race tactics, Toad awards
an honorary Beer Cross to the PC Pirates, Swiss scrambles the crew for a
spin on Mad Friday, the team at the PC Hawaiian night, Doctor and Swiss
attempt to engage the team in witty conversation when it's well past
their bed time.
Left to right (above) - Look cars!, Toad and Mr Disco
watch the start from the PC base inflatable sofa (very comfy!), our view
down the Porsche Curves, The team enjoying a quick "ah - haaaa!!", and
all quiet at the Pope' s air traffic control tower.

Left to right (above) - Doctor conducts a cooking
demonstration to the crowds at Beermountain base, an unknown visitor
spends time in the cooler, Stanley and Oddball pass their 6g initiation
test, the Porsche Curves at dusk, Oddball fine tuning his beer
mountaineering skills under the watchful supervision of Toady.

Left to right (above) - Radar checks out the spec of
the new team pace car for 2006 (is that the V12, 5 litre, 400 bhp bi
turbo model? - Ed), Oddball tries to find a fix for our satellite
online, evening cocktails with the BM team and invited CA guests, Doctor
and Stan watch the latest race incident replay on Eurosport, the BM
"zoo" on Sun am, and the essential Beermountain photo for many passers
by - did you get yours?

Left to right (above) - A fellow MB camper warms his
tyres before heading off to Carrefour, The Red Squirrels seem to have a
smoke problem, Mulsanne hi jinks, Toad prepares a firework surprise on
the BBQ (is that safe - Ed), a slight "accident" with the Beermountain,
the shampoo bar on Sat pm, Sun night fireworks, Smokie departs (before
the end of the race! - Ed), Toad tries to lift the Beermountain back up
and restore his mountaineering prowess!

Left to right (above) - Mr Disco's 1.6 A4 LM BM fails
to keep pace with the GT40 on the road home, Stanley sleeping on the
job, the D-Day cultural visits (somewhat spoiled by poor satellite
navigation? - Ed), and a fuel stop before heading back to Blightey!
So there you have it for now - please post a message
in our forum if any of this rings bells. And speaking of noise, can
anyone clarify who let those idiotic cars speed around public roads most
of the weekend? Most inconsiderate for those trying to have a quiet BBQ!
See you next year & all the best from the Beermountain team!
